From the time the first Ned's opened (I think it has had three locations in Mt Barker), it has gotten better! The girls who run the shop are sensational; they are friendly, extremely helpful and interested. If I ring and ask for something I've seen to be held, it's never a problem. Sharon seems to have been there forever!
This shop has been challenged by other bigger stores in Mt Barker such as Cheap As Chips, The Reject Shop and so on, but they just changed their style and inventory slightly to keep themselves unique.
What makes Ned's Mt Barker so amazing for me are their brilliant displays; there's something for everyone. The girls work hard to make colour co-ordinated displays throughout the shop. These have become a must-see when shopping for groceries each week!
There is truly something for everyone; kids, collectors, interior decorators on a budget , teenagers or grannies who just want to treat someone or themselves. It's for people who don't have the cash to buy expensive goods, but still want something that looks nice. There are even display stands with quirky things such as grinning dragons and fishing frogs!
I could go on and on, but you'd have to see for yourself to truly experience Ned's. It's like an Aladdin's Cave every day of the week. As their TV ad says "What will you find at Ned's?" Love them!
Everything is fairly priced at Ned's - truly! No need for charm. Unusually, I never hear screaming children in this shop - they seem to be too intrigued and round-eyed! The last thing I bought there (when I'd just gone in to look!) was a white and blue patterned ceramic candle holder (with candle), to sit on my new kitchen desk. And it cost just $3.00!
