Chumley Warners is a genuine British fish and chip shop. The owners are British, the equipment was shipped from Britain, the fish is haddock, cod and plaice - all shipped frozen from British waters. The menu also includes British specialities like pork pies, Cornish pasties and steak and kidney puddings.
All the drinks are also British like Irn Bru, Tizer and Sarsparella. They even do deep fried Mars Bars which were first invented in Scotland. The staff are always happy and smiling, even in the height of Queensland's summer when working in a chip shop can't be much fun!
You can sit under the shade at tables outside the shop or you can drive five minutes away to a sandy beach with children's play equipment and enjoy the beauty of Morton Bay.
And just a few shops up is a British shop called Britain by the Bay where you can buy some English sweeties or some more frozen fish to take home.
Wednesday is seniors' special day, you get a large peice of fish, a mountain of chips and a choice of mushy peas or curry sauce for the grand sum of $10! However I have been on many other days of the week and have asked for the senior special and never been refused .
