Caboolture Sunday Markets are held each Sunday morning at the Caboolture Showgrounds, from approximately 6am to 1pm. There is tons of free parking and fresh fruit and veges galore at excellent cheap prices!
For example, bananas are currently selling at the market for $2.99kg! (Sept 2011) You can also buy lots of 'bag lots' of veges for $2 each - to give you an idea of the variety, one bag may have eight avocadoes or 2kg of tomatoes or 1.5kg of potatoes or half a dozen red peppers and so on. Strawberries by the small box/carton, approximately 5kg sell for $6, with lettuce 99c each.
Don't worry if you've forgotten to get cash on your way to the market as they have portable ATM units there too. Just remember to take your enviro bags to carry your goodies in, and wear a sunhat if it's a sunny day!
Well worthwhile taking the family to on a Sunday morning. Very very popular and yet still easy to get parking, and not overcrowded. We no longer buy any fresh fruit or veges from the supermarkets!
If you want the best variety and quality, then go early in the morning. Most stall holders start setting up from 5am. However, do not worry if you happen to sleep in on the Sunday and only turn up around lunchtime! There are still great bargains to be had - there just may not be the same variety, so first in, best dressed!
