A lot of the staff at the Blue Mountains Food Co-operative are volunteers, so they want to be there for their community and this really shines through. They are very friendly and informative. The Co-op has a a great range of products from flours to lentils, fresh organic produce from local growers and pre packaged food, oils and even a peanut butter machine for real peanut butter. It is a great place for vegetrians, vegan, coeliacs or any one who cooks from stratch or is simply interested in their health. I love shopping there becuase they have a big bin of bulk foods from which I can measure out the exact amount I need. You can take yourown jars, bottles and paper bags for filling up which means recycling and less packaging.
You become a member! Ok, it does cost but only $15 for 6 months or $30 for 12 months, which is less than 60c a week. This gives you 10% off everything, which really makes a difference and you are also supporting a community group that gives back to the community.
